Board

Our small board is deeply committed to the success of the Good Food Collaborative. Each board member brings a unique skillset to the table and is involved in programs, operations and fundraising. We are long-time community members with deep passion for our community and the need to contribute. We all are committed to making a difference and collaborating with others in the community.

Julie Dewees

Treasurer

Julie, a founding board member of GFC, currently serves as the Board Treasurer. In 2021, she and her mother volunteered with the Mobile Food Pantry helping to deliver food on Thursday mornings. She is concerned about the growing food insecurity in her community and believes GFC provides needed support and awareness to the McDonough County area. Julie is a graduate of Western Illinois University and long-time resident of Macomb. She retired from WIU where she served as the University Budget Director and Vice President for Administrative Services.

Richard Chamberlain

President

Richard, a founding board member of GFC, serves as the Board President. He is an avid gardener and a long-time beekeeper, and appreciates the value of access to local food and local food production. He is interested in increasing awareness and access to quality food for all in our community, and supports increasing educational opportunities to understand the importance and application of good food in your life. Richard is retired from Western Illinois University where he served as Executive Director in University Technology and Director of the Center for the Application of Information Technologies (CAIT).

Suzan Nash

Secretary

Suzan served as the Western Illinois Regional Council’s (WIRC) Executive Director for 36 years, stepping down in 2017; and then remaining on until April 2018. She was hired back as interim Executive Director in 2020 and then as the interim Victim Services Director in 2021. In her combined over forty years with the agency, she and her team were transformative in terms of programs provided and in taking on the challenge of making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and for the many communities and counties the agency serves.

Suzan has been recognized over the years for her service to the community and region receiving many awards including Macomb Feminist Network’s Writing Women into History award, the Quality of Life Committee’s Clyde Cronkhite award, WIU’s College of Education and Human Services’ Lifetime Achievement award, the United Way’s Isaac and Ethel Leighty award and in 2018, the WIU Alumni Achievement award.
